The word "Lumina" is associated with light, comfort and guidance - values which sit at the heart of the care we aim to provide.
Lumina Care was created following both personal and professional experiences within palliative and end-of-life care.
Over time, it became increasingly clear how important consistency, reassurance and familiar faces can be - particularly for individuals living with conditions such as dementia. During difficult periods, constantly changing carers and unfamiliar faces can often add further distress and uncertainty for both the individual and their loved ones.

It also became clear that palliative and end-of-life care requires not only kindness, but confidence, experience and an understanding of the emotional impact these situations can have on families. At times, families can unintentionally find themselves carrying additional stress when support lacks consistency or experience.
With increasing pressures across healthcare and hospice services, many families are now finding themselves needing additional support at home during incredibly difficult times.
As a small team, Lumina Care was created to offer a more personal and reassuring approach - one where comfort, communication and dignity remain at the centre of care.
